Anxe Faraldo
Anxe Faraldo is a musician and sonologist. His artistic work focuses on exploring unconventional electronic and digital media, presenting a performative, critical, and ecological perspective on electronic sound. This is expressed in his work as a composer and improviser, as well as in his installations and interdisciplinary creations.
At the same time, Anxe has developed a career as a sound engineer, specializing in sound reinforcement and mastering of instrumental and mixed music, collaborating with numerous ensembles, composers, and festivals.
Currently, he teaches electroacoustic composition at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska (Madrid), oversees the technical direction of new music festivals (MIXTUR, ME_MMIX, +RAIN), and co-directs the mastering and sound-creation studio La membrana in Barcelona.
He has been an associate professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, as well as artistic director of the Phonos Foundation. He trained at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid and the Institute of Sonology in The Hague, and earned his doctorate from the Music Technology Group of Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.
